Kenyan investigative agency, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), has launched investigations over a letter, allegedly directed to the Attorney General over the now controversial Division of Revenue Bill.

The letter, with a letterhead denoting the Office of The President, in Kenya, calls for a political truce over the now contested division of revenue.

The text within the duly signed document appears to note that a constitutional process may get derailed to due to various clauses that impede the Office of Budget Controller.

The letter also warns that Presidential authority, from a constitutional standpoint, may not work given the many conflicting constitutional articles guiding revenue sharing mechanisms.

The Division of Revenue Bill has in the recent past, activated unending political dimensions as various institutions seek to control its provisions.

Last week, governors held a demonstration in Nairobi, over its content. Today, Thursday, members of the Senate hit the roads and held camp at Milimani Law Courts in a bid to attract executive interest over the matters.

It remains to be seen what the DCI will uncover in the matter as the country gets used to heated and aggressive political maneuvres over various political, and governance issues.
