From July 1, the filing of cases in all the courts in Nairobi will be done exclusively through the Electronic Filing system.
Chief Justice David Maraga will officially launch the e-filing initiative at the beginning of July.
The Law society of Kenya members, the police as well as members of the public will have to register themselves to access the e-filing platform.
After registration, they will be able to log into the Judiciary system, upload documents, assess court fees and submit the files to the registry.
According to Chief Registrar of Judiciary Anne Amadi, the electronic filing of cases is aimed at increasing use of technology in all its functions.
This is to achieve higher levels of efficiency and convenience to stakeholders.
“Other forthcoming initiatives include the launch of a Court Recording and Transcription System, initially in 32 courtrooms across the country,” reads statement from Chief Registrar of Judiciary.
