Award winning Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau started acting at a young age and has grown to become one of the most notable actresses in Kenya.

Catherine, aka Kate Actress, understood the struggles of trying to be successful in this day and age and shared a few gems with the youths.

The mother of two advised youths to save and wisely use their finances instead of trying to impress people with a lavish lifestyle. When the money runs dry, the friends may also leave.

“Stop using your little savings or profits to please friends or your followers. You work hard, grow your money, invest and save for a rainy day. When you run out of money to buy the champagnes and mzingas, they will run too,” the notable actress said.

The Harpic brand ambassador also acted in Mother-in-Law and Sue and Jonnie.

In a past interview with buzz, Kate revealed she was the highest paid actress in Kenya.

She admitted that people expected her to live a very lavish lifestyle because she has been gracing the screens for long and people perceive her to be rich.

Despite the expectations, Kate urged people not to spend more than they make. According to Kate, people should “live comfortably and grow slowly”.

“I earn enough to live in the boojiest neighbourhoods but (I have) priorities. I even have comments thrown my way but I don’t listen. I know what I’m working for so I stay focused,” Kate said.

They had met on set and became friends before finally deciding to settle down together.

She also advised people to choose friends wisely. According to Kate, not everyone has good intentions at heart.

“May God grant you wisdom here, this is a struggle. If you are a genuine soul you (will) think everybody is the same! Sweetheart, people are cruel,” the award-winning actress said.

The wife and mother encouraged youths to pray for God’s guidance when choosing friends because good ones give you “peace, encourage you, cheer you and protect your dignity”.
