Lufthansa Group opens new offices in Nairobi

The opening of the Riverside offices by Lufthasa Group officials and diplomats from Swiss, Germany and Belgium

Lufthansa Group has opened new offices in Nairobi, German Ambassador to Kenya Annett Günther has said.

The offices of the group Ambassador Günther described as a trusted and reliable partner of Kenyan businesses and tourism industry will be based in Riverside.

This is after the airline announced its expansion of its services to East Africa. The Lufthansa Group last year announced that Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will resume flights to Nairobi from September 5.

Since July 2021, it has been flying to the Tanzanian Island of Zanzibar via  Mombasa, Kenya.

Eurowings Discover, the newest leisure airline within the Lufthansa Group, commenced its flights on July 24 with two weekly flight services from Frankfurt, Germany to Mombasa, with onward flights to the region.

Tourist arrivals from Germany account for Kenya’s 7.2 per cent of the international arrival, fourth behind the US 12.9 per cent, Italy 12 per cent and the UK 9.5 per cent.

In 2019, Kenya received 5,595 tourists from Germany, a 13.3 per cent increase from  4,939 the previous year.
