Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s life journey hasn’t been a walk in the park. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth either.
The hardships he has gone through are what shaped him into the man he is today.
In a recent interview by Churchill, he walked us through his life journey.
“If you met me back then you would have thought I go to the gym. But that wasn’t the case. Ni kubeba ma gunia for loading and unloading .” Joho narrated.
One of the hardest moments in his life was seeing his mother getting arrested for not having a license . She had put up a kibanda to sell tomatoes.
“I was a primary school pupil. It pains me so much to remember. I couldn’t do anything at the time.” He painfully recalls
Joho’s love for music saw him begin the 001 music brand that supports artist from the coastal region. He believes that the entertainment industry has talent but lacks support.
“We have to put in deliberate effort to ensure we give artists the support that they need. The rest now is for them to generate content and observe certain standards. We also have to put in some investment.” Joho explained
The Governor also admitted to helping artists write some lyrics while in studio.
A video of the Governor singing along to a song dubbed Katerina did rounds on various social media platforms. The assumption was that he was singing to his new found lover rumoured to be Natalie Tewa. She added fuel to the fire when she captioned ‘Baby Katerina’ on her Instagram photo.
“Katerina imeniletea shida! Wacha tu. Naiogopa hiyo wimbo sasa.” Joho expressed.
Joho got to show off his culinary skills as he prepared some pasta as the show was coming to and end. They really seemed to enjoyed the dish.
All in all, he advised young people to help each other and make a change in their lives. Young people should build each other up.
