Cannabis is a multi-billion dollar industry that has seen various people in power push for its legalization.
This has seen Rwanda approve the cultivation, processing and exportation of marijuana even as the use of marijuana for recreational and medical purposes remains illegal in the country.
“The government of Rwanda is considering the development of a medical cannabis industry in Rwanda, targeting medicinal and therapeutic products. With a focus on export markets and value addition. The government seeks to participate in the economic opportunities that this growing sector offers,” the statement read.
Rwanda has become the first East African country and the latest country in Africa to legalize production of marijuana.
Kenya’s beloved boy band, Sauti Sol, took to Twitter and expressed their view on Rwanda’s move to legalize marijuana .
“Heavenly Father we see what you’re doing in Rwanda,” Sauti Sol posted.
Pretty sure they aren’t the only ones wishing it would happen in Kenya.
