People in parliament have started panicking after six members of parliament tested positive for coronavirus.

The MPs are currently admitted in different hospitals. One is said to be in Intensive Care Unit at the moment.

According to The Standard, other politicians rushed to get tested after news of the positive cases broke out.

“I know at least 6 MPs have so far turned positive and are in hospitals, one is in ICU,” one MP revealed to the daily under condition of anonymity.

Covid-19 has infiltrated parliament and State House.

2 weeks ago, State House confirmed four staffers have tested positive for coronavirus.

State House spokesperson Kanze Dena-Mararo in a statement said, the four tested positive during mass Covid-19 testing on Thursday, June 11.

Several State House staffers were admitted at the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus a few weeks ago.

This follows a targeted mass testing of the staff at Kenya’s top most office, which was done on June 10 and 11. That’s when some were discovered to be covid-19 positive.

Sources now say staffers are not allowed to go into the main offices of President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
