Coast Leaders Leaving Raila are digging their Political Graves, says MP Babu Owino

Raila and Babu

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Friday warned Coast leaders who have expressed desire to stop supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The MP said withdrawing support from Raila will only harm the political careers of the leaders in Mombasa.

Coast politicians are in the final stages of forming a new party ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.

Some of them have ditched the Raila-led ODM party to form the new party.

They have been meeting to plan for the formation of the new party.

“Coast leaders who are threatening to leave Raila Odinga are digging their political grave. He who sleeps with your mother is your father,” Babu Owino tweeted.

A good number of coast politicians are in ODM party and others are politically affiliated with the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

However, a number of elected coast leaders expressed disappointment with ODM party after it failed to appoint them to lead parliamentary committees.

Moreover, the new party will help the leaders have a strong bargaining power in important matters such as discussions on the proposed revenue allocation formula and formation of parliamentary leadership.
