On June 28, celebrated comedian Joseph Musyoki Kivindu aka Kasee died at Nginduri in Kinoo. The news of his sudden death shocked many people, especially Churchill show fans.

However, there have been other Churchill show comedians who have either died under mysterious circumstances or due to depression in the last decade.

On Wednesday, Churchill show comedian Zainabu Zeddy revealed the reason why many comedians are dying or living deplorable lives while working at Churchill Show.

Zeddy blamed Churchill Show Creative Director Victor Ber for driving the upcoming comedians to depression.

According to Zeddy, the director is rude, mean and inconsiderate when dealing with upcoming comedians.

She says this is what may have drove Kasee to depression and the eventual death.

“Kama ushawahi enda auditions za Churchill Show, hakika unajua huyu msee. Huwa heartless, roho chafu kuliko ya Firaun (Pharaoh). Atakudhalilisha na maneno yake makali kuliko wa jehanam (Hell). Atafanya ujidharau maisha yako yote!” Zeddy said.

In order to perform live on Churchill Show, the comedians need to rehearse for three days. However, the Creative Director lets people come for rehearsals for days without telling them anything. He then excludes them from the performing list hours before the show.

“Ukiangalia list ya performers unapata jina lako haliko. Hapa ndio unaonanga msanii ameanza kupata stress coz umekam three days umetumia fare, ukabuy nguo ya kuchapa show ama ata ukakopa. Unapata msanii amefanyiwa hivi like three months,” she disclosed.

Moreover, when comedians start becoming successful and hopeful about the future, the director destroys their positivity.

The comedian says the director can suddenly send comedians away and tell them to come back after a year without a valid reason.

“Ukipata bahati upenye alafu uanze kushine, Ber anaanza kukuua pole pole; utaenda rehearsal ataskiza kila mtu kama amekaa hapo, aamke na aende bila ata kukuambia lolote, unabaki na viulizo.”

“Unaeza enda rehearsal, akuite akuulize leo ni when, ukimjibu anakwambia ukam next year siku kama ya leo na hujamkosea hata!” said the well-known comedian.

According to Zeddy, the director can find a comedian already in the program line-up, getting ready to perform and remove them without any reason. Many comedians fear him.

“Yaani Ber huwa ameweka wasanii na baridi utadhani tuko Netherlands. Anataka umuabudu ama utakipata,” reads part of the post.
