Covid-19 cases cross the 6,000 mark as 259 more test positive

Kenya  on Sunday, June 28, reported 259 more Covid-19 cases, raising the total number to 6, 070.

Speaking during the daily press briefing on Sunday, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangj said the new cases were from 2, 718 samples.

She also reported that two more people have succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, raising number of deaths to 143.

On as positive note, 35 more people recovered, raising the number of discharges to 1, 971.

“All the positive cases are Kenyans, except three who are foreigners, with 159 being males and 100 females. The youngest is an eight-month-old infant and the oldest is 92 years,” said Dr Mwangangi.

The 127 cases in Nairobi are distributed as follows: Westlands (31), Dagoretti North (22), Makadara (12), Embakasi East (11) and Langata (11).

Cases in Mombasa were discovered as follows; Likoni (13), Mvita (8), Changamwe (7), Jomvu (6) and Nyali (4).
