DCI seize Heroin hidden in buttons at JKIA

An intelligence operation led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Anti-Narcotics Unit (DCI ANU) detectives based at JKIA saw the confistication of unknown amounts of Heroin and Bhang.

The Heroin seized at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was enroute from Juba to Cambodia while Bhang was enroute from Entebbe to France.

The search was conducted at Cargo Shed in DHL Warehouse leading to the recovery of two suspicious consignments.

The first consignment was labelled as clothes for personal use and on transit from Juba to Cambodia while the second consignment had a dress concealing the marijuana enroute to France.

“On opening the first consignment, three blouses each with 8 large buttons and three skirts each having 17 buttons were found, where on dismantling the buttons each was found to contain a powdery substance which upon testing turned to be heroin,” DCI wrote on Twitter.
The DCI confirm that both consignments have been seized and further investigations are being carried out.
