Detectives nab suspected fraudster Oundo Sillingi at JKIA


The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives caught up with suspected fraudster Mr Innocent Oundo Sillingi on Thursday at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The suspect was arrested by JKIA detectives before he could manage to board his flight heading to Dubai due to a stop order issued by DCI Headquarters on Monday, 24th February 2020.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspect is believed to have obtained over Sh10 million in false pretence during his tenure.

“Acting as the director of Project Capital Solutions, Mr Sillingi is suspected to have fraudulently obtained over Sh10 million pretending he would arrange for letters of credit, discounting of documents facility for suppliers and credit funding program.” The Directorate of Criminal Investigations wrote.

DCI further stated, “The suspect claimed he would also finance the supply of both the project and working capital under certain terms and conditions,”

The suspect is now in custody and the DCI is confident that he will  be charged accordingly.
