Former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Seif Kajembe has succumbed to suspected Covid-19 complications at Pandya Memorial Hospital in Mombasa.

He dies barely two weeks after his first wife died of coronavirus complications. Kajembe was not able to attend his wife’s burial as he was in hospital, reportedly on oxygen.

The ex-MP had lost his second wife Mama Zaharia Kajembe in March this year at the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa.

Some relatives hare also said to be admitted at the hospital since a week ago, following his wife’s demise.

“Rest in Peace Ramadhan Seif Kajembe. You served Changamwe residents well from 1997 to 2013. To his family, we send our condolences,” ODM said in a statement.

According to Islamic traditions and in adherence to the Covid-19 instructions on funerals, the burial is expected to take place at 7pm on Friday at the Kajembe family cemetery in Changamwe.
