Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha presided over the reopening of schools on Monday, 12th October 2020 at Olympic Primary School.

While speaking at Olympic Primary School, Prof Magoha outlined various factors that should be considered as children return to school today since March 2020.

Magoha states that those children who are pregnant have nothing to fear. They should come back to school and resme learning. The culprits that impregnated the children will be dealt with.

He urges teachers who will have pregnant students in their classes to be very empathic with them and give them all the assistance they require.

“Those pregnant should be given the opportunity to go and give birth and return back to school,” Magoha stated.

The CS pleaded with the heads of schools not to send home any child home because of school fees both in private and public schools.

“For the private schools where some people have tried to equate reopening with those who had online classes, we want to make it very clear, that all children will start from where they left.” Prof Magoha reiterated.

He went on to add, “If you send a child home because the child did not engage in online classes, then that is criminal and we shall come for you.”
