The National Emergency Response on Coronavirus (NERC) has convened a conference to review the national and county Covid response to chart Kenya’s Post-Covid future.
His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta will preside over the National Covid-19 Conference on Monday, 28th September 2020.
In a statement released by the executive office of the president, the National Conference will be followed by the long awaited 12th presidential address to the Nation. The address is set to take place on Tuesday, 29th September 2020.
“The address by the Head of State will unveil the containment measures that shall guide Kenya into the new normal.” The statement read.
The National Covid-19 Conference will have various functions. It will chart a responsible path forward for Kenya as the Nation establishes the new normal of adaption to living with Covid-19.
It will outline a strategy for building and sustaining momentum with regard to recovery and resilience in a manner that ensures Kenya bounces back better and stronger.
The Conference is expected to showcase good practices that have strengthened the economic resilience and self-reliance, including the strengthening of the country’s capacity for local manufacturing.
Finally, it will honour various persons who have emerged as ‘Covid-19 heroes’ due to their exemplary and selfless service to Kenya during the pendency of the Pandemic.
The statement went on to urge fellow Kenyans to play their part in flattening the curve by following protocols issued by the Ministry of Health.
