Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has arrived in Lolongwe, Malawi, To represent P{resident Uhuru Kenyatta in the inauguration of Lazarus Chakwera, the newly elected President of Malawi.

Senator Moi is leading Kenya’s delegation that also has Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba.

The delegation arrived in Lilongwe aboard a Kenya Air Force plane.

President Kenyatta overlooked his deputy, William Ruto, and instead picked Moi, whom they recently signed a post-election coalition to start the purge that targeted DP allies in Parliament. In 2017, Senator Moi was also picked to receive top dignitaries at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ahead of Uhuru’s inauguration, raising eyebrows about 2022 succession debate.

The top dignitaries that Moi welcomed included Uganda President Yoweri Museveni, South Sudan’s Salva Kiir and former Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete.
