Deputy President William Ruto has congratulated his ally Feisal Badar on his win in the Msambweni by-election.
DP Ruto said Feisal’s win cements democracy and the people power.

Pongexi E.Mwihaki (Gaturi), S.Wanango( Lakeview), K.Ochieng( Wendani) & all winners. To others there’s next time,” Ruto tweeted on Wednesday.
Feisal garnered 15,251 votes beating ODM’s Omar Boga, who got 10,444 votes.
Feisal stood as an Independent candidate but was backed by DP Ruto and his allies when Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju announced the ruling party would not field a candidate. Instead, they backed Raila Odinga’s candidate, Boga.
Wiper’s Abdurahman Sheikh finished a distant third with 790 votes followed by Hamisi Mwakaonje Liganje(UGM) with 230 and Marere Wa Mwachai Mwarapayo (NVP) with 300.
Other candidates were Ali Hassan Mwakulonda (PED) who got 107 votes, Charles Bambo Bilali (Independent) garnered 135, Sharlet Akinyi Onyango (Independent) had 18 and Mansury Kumaka Abdulrahman (Independent) managed 38.
The number of registered voters in the constituency were 69,003 with the by-election attracting 39.58 per cent turnout.
The by-election which arose following the death of Suleiman Dori of ODM.
The mini-poll was seen as a battle between DP Ruto and Raila, with the ODM leader saying that should he lose the poll, it would been the Building Bridges Initiative he is pushing with President Uhuruy Kenyatta would face challenges.
The election was marked by arrests of politicians, among them former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, and agents, voter bribery allegations, missing names in the voter register and violence between Kieleweke and Tangatanga rival groups.
Raila allies, including ODM deputy leader and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna camped in the Kwale constituency to drum up support for Boga.
The parliamentary seat has been held by ODM since 2007, and the region is considered a Raila stronghold.
