Mimi si wazimu, mjinga wala mlevi, DP Ruto says as he addresses Nyamira residents

Earlier today, Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto held his postponed empowerment programme for Nyamira South Bodaboda Sacco at Sironga Stadium in Nyamira County.

The Deputy President emphasized that the well-being of the people of Nyamira matter to him hence his planned visit to the area.

“Wanasema ati tubadilishe katiba kuwe na prime minister tunasema tubadilishe mjadala tuanze kuongea kuhusu mwananchi mdogo. Wakikuja na mambo ya viongozi tutawaambia tunataka mambo ya wananchi… wakikuja na mambo ya mamlaka tutawaambia tunataka kazi kwa mwananchi mdogo,” Ruto said’

He further stated, “Mimi si wazimu na mimi si mjinga na mimi si mlevi… Mimi ninajua kile ninasema. Kuanzia hapa chini inawezekana. Kuanzia kwa mwananchi inawezekana. Hawa watu wasitudanganye siku zote ati lazima tuongee mambo ya viongozi. We can as well talk about issues of the ordinary people. In any case they are the majority and they are deserving.”

The DP reiterated that leaders have the responsibility of preaching unity and establishing social cohesiveness for political stability and long-term prosperity of our country. They must endeavour to be forward-thinking, work together to meet the needs of the people and shun any forms of divisive politics that may provoke division in the society.

During an empowerment programme for 10 Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Nyamasebe District, Ruto said that places of worship must be protected against all forms of desecration and must be supported in order to deliver on its sacred duty.
