The Tangatanga faction of the Jubilee government has termed the so-called Deep Stated as a criminal enterprise and a mafia cartel.
Separately, two legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto who has said the Deep State seeks to stop his march to State House called out the system.
“The Deep State in Kenya and elsewhere is criminal enterprise that thrives on capture of state power by compromising the State System. Going forward the System in this country shall protect the State in order to preserve the Nation. The people shall conquer the Deep State,” Kandara MP Alice Wahome said on Monday.
Retweeting a post by David Ndii of photos of those who attended Ida Odinga’s birthday party at the weekend, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen termed them as “Mafia-style cartels”.
Among those in the photos was Raila Odinga, his brther Oburu, Jubilee Vice-Chairman David Murathe, Raila ally and Siaya Senator James Orengo, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Peter Kenneth, among others.

Speaking on Tuesday August 11at his Karen home, Ruto said the threats and intimidation by a certain clique referred to as the deep state will not deter him as it didn’t in 2012.
“We are being threatened that there is a “system/ deep state”, that there are people who will steal our votes regardless of how overwhelmingly you vote … there are some people seated somewhere who will decide. I am telling you, we are waiting for these people. That deep state, we are waiting for it,” Ruto told a delegation of community leaders from Kajiado.
“They will come with the system, we will come with the citizens and God,” Ruto said.
The DP added that if he were a coward, he and President Uhuru Kenyatta would not have formed the Jubilee government.
