Speaking at Afya House on Sunday, CS Mutahi Kagwe warned alcohol selling facilities against defying ban on sale of alcohol.
Kagwe noted the recent rise in selling of alcohol. He directed those doing it to follow the guidelines by Ministry of Health.
“We have not lifted the ban and we urge them to adhere to the directives given by the ministry of health. Opening of bars and sale of alcohol remains banned. Those who flout rules will have licenses revoked,” said Kagwe.
Kagwe also encouraged Kenyans who are able to work from home to do so to curb spread of covid-19.
Within the last 24 hours, Kenya has recorded 167 new covid-19 case after targeted testing.
Nairobi has 54 new covid-19 cases, Mombasa 47, Busia 28, Kiambu 14, Uasin Gishu 11, Kisumu 4, Machakos 3 while Migori, Homabay, Kwale, Siaya and Turkana have one case each.

Isiolo Governor Mohamed Kuti said covid-19 is permeating into counties.
“Today we have 36 counties affected. This means that more responsibilities are failing into counties, into communities and into families,” he said.
The governor noted that the best preventive measure lies in “nyumba kumi, community health volunteers as well as targeted testing as county government,”
The total number of covid-19 cases now stands at 2, 767 while samples tested so far are 97, 340. The new cases include 162 Kenyans and 5 foreigners.
One person has succumbed to the disease.
According to distribution in Nairobi, Westlands is leading with 21 cases, Embakasi South and Kibra 6 each, Embakasi West 5, Kasarani 3, Kamukunji and Langata 4 each, Makadara and Dagoretti North 2 cases each and 1 case in Embakasi East.
