“The only picture I have ever found of my late mum Lucia Mueni, taken more than 35 years ago. At times looking at it I always wish I would be granted just a day to treat her. Just a day to make her proud. She died when I was 7 years old, even before I knew the bitterness of this world. Every day I work hard to make her proud and may the lord rest her soul in eternal peace. RIP mama, Happy Mother’s Day Mama Bahati,” Bahati said.

Bahati also wished the mother of his children a happy mother’s day. He took to social media to share a long post written for his soon-to-be wife Diana Marua.

“Since the first day I knew you were the one, the one I have been waiting for. The one I’d share my success and fears with, the one to go before God on my behalf when at my lowest, the one I’d celebrate with at my best! The one to fill the empty spaces of my life. The mother of my children, happy mother’s day Diana Marua,” The musician said.

Bahati grew up without parents after his mother passed away and his father remarried and moved away. Bahati was left alone in Kariobangi slum and had to fend for himself. He grew up in ABC Kenya Children’s home and his father later passed on while he was in class eight.
