“My thoughts and prayers are with the people and Government of Kenya following the heinous IED attack that targeted an ambulance in Garissa County. This barbaric attack killed 3 innocent people, including the patient and the ambulance driver. Terror and its evil must be defeated,” Somalia Foreign Affairs minister Ambassador Ahmed Awad said on Twitter.

Governor Ali Korane said he was saddened by the attack.

“Deeply saddened by the heinous IED attack that killed 3 people travelling in an ambulance from Sangailu to Hulugho, Garissa County. Those killed include the driver and a patient. I condemn this heartless attack. Perpetrators of terror in all forms must be defeated,” Korane, the area governor, said on Sunday.
