Kenyans across the divide continued to share their thoughts and recounted memories as News Night show host Hussein Mohamed hosted it for the last time on Tuesday night.
His guests were Majority leader in the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen and his Minority counterpart in the National Assembly John Mbadi
Profiled as a top Kenyan journalist, Hussein leaves Citizen TV with an impressive portfolio of hard-hitting interviews.
He had early this month announced his departure, noting that he relished his experience at the leading media company.
Politicians from across the divide paid tribute to him after his 10-year stint at Roal Media Services.
ODM leader Raila Odinga recounted his experience at the journalistic hands of Hussein.
Noting that some of the questions directed to him were irritating, Raila, however, qualified Hussein as one of the most prolific interviewers he ever came across.
“He struck me as someone who did his homework and knew answers to the questions he asked,” he said.
Other politicians who sent messages of goodwill included former Vice President and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Lands Cabinet Secretary and his former boss at the station Faridah Karoney, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, among other politicians.
Among the high profile personalities who Hussein interviewed include President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, Raila, and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hussein is, however, yet to share on his next professional stop shop.
His colleagues organised a well-choreographed send-off with hear-warming messages, cakes, presents and songs in the studio.
