State House Secretary Digital Innovations and Diaspora Director Dennis Itumbi was on Wednesday humiliated by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s security detail when they ejected him from the podium at the Bomas of Kenya, during the launch of the BBI report in full glare of the cameras and the audience.

Itumbi, in a video posted by the Daily Nation, is first seen shaking hands with another undefined VIP behind visiting Tanzania Foreign Affairs minister Kalamagamba Kabudi, Deputy President William Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga and BBI task force chairman Senator Yusuf Haji.

A security guard in a grey suit then approaches Itumbi and attempts to remove him from the podium but he argues, resists and walks away.

The guard follows him, joined by PSCU cameraman.

The guard is after a short while seen forcibly pushing Itumbi out of the dias.

The two then retreat towards the opposite end of the podium where they are seen arguing, with Itumbi already behind the curtains.

The guard takes his position authoritatively.

In response, Itumbi said he was not embarrassed but another day in office.

“No embarassment  @dailynation, just another great day in office….of course you See I still remained on the podium. Just one of those moments when everyone is just doing their job…hahaa enjoyed. Tuko sawa,” the blogger tweeted.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans online, with a section of them lauding the move while others questioning why Itumbi would be ejected from an event hosted by the government he claims to work for.
