
The first batch of Jack Ma’s donation to Africa delivered by Ethiopian Airlines
Chinese billionaire Jack Ma has promised more aid to Africa amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Jack in a Twitter post said the donation would go directly to the African Union and Africa Centre for Disease Control.
“Our 3rd donation to Africa will immediately be made to @_africanunion and @AfricaCDC. This includes 4.6m masks, 500k swabs & test kits, 300 ventilators, 200k clothing sets, 200k face shields, 2k thermal guns, 100 body temp. scanners and 500k pairs of gloves. #OneWorldOneFight,” Jack tweeted.
On April 6, Jack announced his second donation to all the 54 African countries. This was in partnership with Ethiopian Airline.
“Our second donation to 54 countries in Africa is on the way. That includes 500 ventilators, 200K suits & face shields, 2K thermometers, 1M swabs & extraction kits and 500K gloves.,” he tweeted.
In the first wave, the support included 1.1 million testing kits, six million masks and 60,000 protective suits distributed throughout Africa.
In the first batch, Kenya has received a batch of 25,000 kits for testing coronavirus.
