This emerged during the introduction of parties in the impeachment proceedings on Tuesday.

“I am Kamotho Waignjo and will be representing the Governor of Kirinyaga,” Kamotho told the 11-ember committee.

The two got married in July last year in a traditional weeding attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The embattled governor on Saturday filed boxes of her responses to the impeachment motion filed against her.

Waiguru said she has full confidence in her legal team, adding that she believes her response is sound.

“Let’s allow the Senate to do its work. I have confidence in the rule and believe that truth and justice will be our shield and defender,” Waiguru said.

There are already questions on whether the 11-member Senate committee selected to investigate Waiguru will be able to go through the tonnes of documents submitted by the governor in just five days.

The committee is expected to decide Waiguru’s fate on June 26.
