Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Tuesday announced the extension of restaurant closing hours from 5pm to 7.30pm.

This move was made to enable Kenyans eat supper in hotels if they wish to.

Despite the move on restaurants, Kagwe said bars and clubs will remain closed in the meantime.

Kenya has recorded 133 new covid-19 cases after testing 3, 255 samples within the last 24 hours.

In the same 24 hours, 40 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovering.

This has resulted in 1,326 total recoveries.

One person has died, bringing the total number of deaths to 105.

All the new coronavirus cases are Kenyans, with 88 being Males and 45 females.

The youngest is 13 years old and the oldest 90 years old.

The cumulative number of tests conducted so far is now 121, 956 and the total case load in the country is 3, 860.

The 133 new cases are spread out as follows; 86 in Nairobi, 27 in Mombasa, 7 in Kiambu, 5 in Busia, 2 in Muranga, Kilifi, kajiado and Migori each and 1 in Machakos.
