Kenya has recorded 123 new covid-19 cases after testing 2, 112 samples within the last 24 hours.
Nairobi and Mombasa remain covid-19 hotspots. There were 44 new cases in Nairobi and 34 new cases in Mombasa.
54 patients recovered and were discharged from hospital within the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of discharges to 553.
3 patients have died from covid-19 within the last 24 hours. All of them were males.
Two of the patients were from Nairobi while the third one was from Nyeri. The total number of deaths has risen to 74.
90 of the new covid-19 cases were males and 33 were females.
In terms of age distribution, the youngest is 8 years old and the oldest is 84 years old.
Kenya now has 2, 216 confirmed covid-19 cases. The cumulative samples tested so far is 85, 058.

The 123 new covid-19 cases are spread across the county, with 44 cases in Nairobi, Mombasa (34), Kiambu (3), Nyeri (3), Uasin Gishu (12), Kajiado (3), Kilifi (2), Embu (1), Busia (20) Garrissa (1) and Laikipia (1).
All the 20 cases in Busia are truck drivers from Malaba border point.
The 12 cases in Uasin Gishu are also truck drivers at turbo. The 3 cases in Kajiado are all truck drivers as well.
The distribution in Nairobi is as follows; Langata (3), Makadara (3), Westlands (9), Embakasi West (4), Kamukunji (1), Ruaraka (1), Mathare (3), Kibra (10), Dagoretti (4), Embakasi South (3) and Kasarani (3)
In Mombasa the distribution is as follows; Mvita (11), Jomvu (8), Changamwe (5), Likoni (4), Kisauni and Nyali 3 each.
During the covid-19 press briefing, Dr Rashid Aman thanked the frontline workers for doing a good job treating Kenyans.
The number of recoveries has risen to 54 within the last 24 hours.
The cessation of movement into and out of counties and the curfew are still in place.
However, Kenyans are waiting for a public address on June 6th to see if the restrictions will be eased or not.
