Controversial cartoonist Godfrey Mwapwemba popularly identified as Gado excited netizens through a caricature description of Ann Waiguru and King Kaka’s conflict.
On December 14th Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka or Kaka Sungura premiered a song titled #WajingaNyinyi. The controversial artistic piece delivered in spoken word version bluntly delves into the ills afflicting Kenya. Featured in the song is Ann Waiguru and her purported role in the infamous NYS heist. The 2016 NYS scandal allegedly swept billions of shillings off public coffers.
Ann Waiguru, now Kirinyaga Governor, has vowed to take legal action against King Kaka if the musician fails to permanently delete the song from all media channels by Wednesday. Waiguru equally demanded a full and a stop to distribution of the poetic piece.
Gado, in his characteristic nature of artistic bravely, brought up a cartoon work that humorizes the entire context. A maverick, Gado is rightly the most vindicated cartoonist, in Kenya, since the era of the iconic Wahome Mutahi.
