There are some racist Indian landlords who refuse to allow Kenyans to rent their houses. The only tenants allowed are fellow Indians.

Through social media, K24 news anchor Shiksha Arora shed some light on this issue.

“Many Kenyan Indian landlords especially in Langata and Parklands would rather leave their units empty rather than rent to certain ethnic groups. The most common excuse is ‘This house is limited to vegetarians only’. Those posting #blacklivesmatter, can you look inward first?” the celebrated anchor said.

Some of these landlords don’t care about your social status in society or whether you are able to afford the rent or not. If you are not Indian, you will be subjected to racial profiling and denied a house.

Kenyan rapper Kaligraph Jones, unfortunately went through a similar experience.

He saw beautiful houses online and wanted to inquire about the prices and have a tour in one of the big houses.

However, the landlord refused to cooperate because Kaligraph was not Indian.

“Last year I went to Langata to inquire about some nice houses I had seen on the internet. After getting there, we were prevented from entering the estate because we were told we aren’t Indians. Apparently only Indians can own property in that area. Nilijua ni mazishi nikarudi kayole pole pole. The OG was not respected,” the artiste said on Thursday.

The racist Indian landlords will give all manner of excuses to hopeful tenants simply because they don’t look like them or don’t come from the same race.

Terming it hypocrisy, journalist Arora urged them to fix their problem at home before they start shouting about racial equality in America.

“Some Kenyan Indians who own residential properties are known to have turned away individuals based on their ethnicity. There’s a lot of hypocrisy around this. Why call out racism in America while practicing anti-blackness in your own country? Don’t turn a blind eye to such cases,” the media personality said.
