The Directorate of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti has revealed there is enough evidence proving Tecra Muigai was murdered.
“We have enough evidence to prove that it was murder,” says Kinoti as quoted by The Standard.
This comes after detectives visited various places where the lovers had frequented together.
The doctors who treated Tecra after the fatal fall were also interviewed and gave statements.
Tecra Muigai’s death remains unsolved despite autopsy revealing she had suffered a trauma on the left side of her head after a fatal fall.
According to Lali, Tecra’s death was accidental. He got to the apartment, had dinner, took some Vodka and stretched out on the couch.
In an interview with a local station, Lali claims he was woken up by a loud sound. He found Tecra had fallen down the stairs and was unresponsive.
However, according to police sources, Tecra might have been involved in a fight with her boyfriend in a cottage in Lamu.
They suggested Tecra and Lali may have had an argument after a night out.
The fight may have turned violent, with Lali hitting Tecra hard enough to send her down the flight of stairs with injuries.
Tecra met Lali Omar at Peponi Hotel early this year.
They met after the Keroche Breweries heiress failed to raise enough money to pay hotel bills incurred at the luxurious facility.
The detective said the Strategy and Innovations director at the family business had become a frequent visitor to Lamu, since they met with Lali last year.
She was in Lamu for holiday when the said “tragic accident”. Tecra suffered head injuries. She was airlifted to The Nairobi Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
