Kenya’s political excitement is currently on bipolar levels as thoughts and opinions raise temperature over a letter allegedly authored with the intention of hurting William Ruto.
Following the activation of a letter, purportedly authored by a Cabinet Secretary and designed to cause political, psychological and physical harm to the Deputy President, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has come out to point four reasons why the letter could be fake.
According to the DCI, accessing the Head of State, through a letter, calls for the notification of the Head of Public Service, in this case, Joseph Kinyua. The addressee of this contentious item should have been Joseph Kinyua, the current Head of Public Service.
Secondly, official government letters, such as those from a Cabinet Secretary to the Office of the President are written on blue or yellow coloured papers and in conquerer material.
Thirdly, investigative sleuths strongly believe that the diction and lexicon applied in the letter do not match the level of a cabinet secretary especially when written under formal letterheads.
The fourth reason, also on the writing style suggests that it is not expected of high officers/offices to extend their writings after a sign-off. The presence of such a mistake in the letter is a part reason why the agencies strongly contest its authenticity.
