David Maina, the Rabai Sub-county Police Commander confirmed the charge while insisting that authorities were keen on operating in accordance with the law.

There were reports that the deceased’s family had opted to settle the matter outside the courts. Mr. Maina denied the claims and insisting that the republic, rather than the family, was the sole complainant in the case.
