MC Bayo had sunk into depression and was in need of urgent medical care.

“This morning I received an emergency call from my brother Hon Jaguar. He informed me of the very sad condition of our legendary reggae artist MC Bayo in Kibera. MC Bayo is a well-known and respected reggae artist among his peers. Bayo has been struggling with alcohol and drug abuse for some time now apparently without much help. He sunk into depression and needed urgent medical attention and rehabilitation,” Chipukeezy said.

MC Bayo helped

The comedian and his team were able to get in touch with the artiste in Kibera. At first, Chipukeezy and his team met some resistance because MC Bayo did not want to be admitted. However, he calmed down after speaking to Jaguar through the phone. He has been admitted in a rehabilitation centre, where he will be attended to until he recovers from drug addiction and debilitating depression.

NACADA and Chiromo Lane Rehabilitation Center will cater for all his rehabilitation costs.

“I together with my team from NACADA managed to track him down in Kibera and are currently taking him to one of the best rehabilitation centers. NACADA in collaboration with Chiromo Lane Rehabilitation Center will cater for his medication and all other basic needs until he recovers,” Chipukeezy said.

NACADA director Chipukeezy encouraged all MC Bayo’s friends to support him in whatever way they can as he battles his addictions.

“I would kindly request all those who can support him to do so in any way possible. Mabeste na wasanii mnaeza mtembelea pia hapo rehab mumpatie morale. Jah bless,” the NACADA director concluded.
