NAIROBI – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday held talks with visiting India Minister for State and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Muraleedharan and discussed ways to enhance cooperation.
Rigathi said Kenya and India’s mutual trade and exchange relations continue to grow in among other areas, education, health, science and technology, research, tourism and agro-based industries, real estate and construction, as well as banking.
Muraleedharan is visiting Kenya as part of his visit to Tanzania and Zanzibar to “further strengthen India’s strong bilateral relations”. He is accompanied by a 30-member business delegation from India.
Other than DP Gachagua, the state minister will also also meet other ministers and senior officials, co-chair an India-Kenya Business Meet organised in collaboration with the Kenyan government.
He will also visit the University of Nairobi and later interact with the Indian diaspora based in Kenya at Jalaram Auditorium, Parklands, Nairobi.
Muraleedharan will also inaugurate an exhibition on the role of the Indian Soldiers in East Africa during World War I.
In Dar es Salaam, he inaugurated India-Tanzania Business Roundtable and held talks with Tulia Ackson, Speaker of Tanzanian Parliament, among other activities.
