Uasin Gishu Women Rep Gladys Shollei has blamed Raphael Tuju for causing the absenteeism of senators at the Senate Parliamentary Meeting on Monday. She said Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju sent late invitations to the meeting and failed to highlight the important agenda that would be tackled. As a result, many senators failed to show up at the meeting which was chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Gladys said Tuju should also be disciplined for poor communication. Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika were removed from office in the same meeting.
“The first person who should be disciplined is Raphael Tuju because he sent invitations to the meeting via SMS the afternoon before the meeting. That was not sufficient time to give notice for a meeting. The notice was not accompanied by an agenda. How comes he can now write letters but when he was supposed to invite people for a meeting he couldn’t even write a letter? He was sending SMS,” Hon Shollei said.

Jubilee is not ending
Gladys Shollei said Jubilee party members would continue to be strong despite the wrangles and misunderstandings among themselves. She insisted her team will not give up and leave Jubilee party easily.
“It’s not the end of Jubilee. Jubilee is having challenges. The party officials have decided to disregard the Kenyan constitution, the political party’s act and the Jubilee party’s constitution. (However), you don’t walk out of a party at the first scare. We are not going to walk out of Jubilee without a fight. Jubilee does not belong to any individual to push out other people. Jubilee is those 8 million Kenyans who are members of Jubilee and who voted for the current Jubilee members that are in parliament, senate and gubernatorial seats,” Uasin Gishu women rep said.
