On Sunday, ODM leader Raila Odinga took the coronavirus test at Mbagathi Hospital in order to know his status.
The politician urged Kenyans to go for covid-19 testing to help in combating the spread of coronavirus.
“I took the Covid-19 test at KEMRI in Mbagathi earlier today. I took the opportunity to appeal to all Kenyans to go for testing. A Covid-19 certificate is becoming an important document as we continue battling the pandemic,” he said through his social media handle.
On Sunday, Kenya recorded 137 new cases of coronavirus after testing 3, 167 samples within the last 24 hours. The total number of cases now stands at 3, 594 from 115, 336 samples.

Speaking during covid-19 briefing in Othaya, Nyeri County, Health CS Kagwe said combating coronavirus will only be achieved if everyone takes part in the fight.
“Cutting the cycle of coronavirus transmission cannot be won by Government alone without the involvement of the people. Success will depend on the level of involvement of the people,” said Kagwe.
Nyeri county has recorded 9 covid-19 cases so far with three of the cases being healthcare workers.
He said the Ministry of Health will continue to work with Nyeri by offering support to upgrade the county human resource and equipment capacity.
