Human Rights activist Boniface Mwangi has called ODM leader Raila Odinga a dictator.
He recalled that the former Prime Minister once organised men to disrupt a meeting in ODM so they could not remove him from power.
The activist said ODM strongholds only elected people who fully supported Raila and did not question or challenge his leadership. This comes after Raila instructed the ODM party to reverse the de-whipping of Senator Ledama Olekina after he withdrew the case he had filed against ODM.
“You can’t be a member of the ODM party and be open minded. Raila Odinga fought for democracy but he is a dictator in his own party. He once organized goons (men-in-black) to disrupt his party conference and forestall a coup to overthrow him. ODM strongholds only elect ‘Raila Yes Men’,” Mwangi said.

On Tuesday morning, Raila said he had reversed the dewhipping of Olekina. Through social media, Raila said ODM will not be proceeding with the decision after Olekina made peace with ODM after meeting with Raila.
“Senator Ledama Olekina has this morning agreed to withdraw the case he had filed against the ODM party over the senate Public Accounts Committee chairmanship, surrendered the seat and apologized. In return I’ve instructed the party to reverse the decision to dewhip the Senator,” Raila said.
Olekina had contested and won the leadership positions of both CPAIC and the Senate Business Committee. However, Senate Minority leader James Orengo said ODM had given Olekina a notice to have him dewhipped from the two committees.
Despite the notice, Olekina vowed to fight for the positions and claimed he was being pushed out for being affiliated to Deputy President William Ruto.
