Kenya Kwanza Alliance Nairobi governor candidate Johnson Sakaja has named Absa Bank Kenya Chief Operating Officer James Muchiri as his running mate.

Muchiri unsuccessfully vied in the Nyandarua governor UDA nominations, losing to businessman Kiarie Badilisha.

Who is James Njoroge Muchiri?

Muchiri has been a banker since 2006, starting as the Operations and Technology director at NIC Bank.

He attended Ririchua Primary School and then proceed to Mang’u High School for his O-levels and later to Alliance High School for A-levels.

He proceeded to  Kenyatta University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree of Education Science specialising in Mathematics and Computer Science. He then went to the University of Nairobi to study Computer Science, Banking, and Financial Support Services.

Between 2010-13, he worked at NIC Tanzania, before crosing over to Barclars Bank as Digital Banking director, a position he held for one year. He was moved to become Customer Director between 2014-16, before being promoted to be Chief Operating Officer.
