CS Kagwe, speaking in Ol Kalou on Monday, congratulated Nyandarua residents for keeping the virus at bay.
“I’m pleased to note that Nyandarua County is among the nine counties out of 47 counties that have so far recorded no case of Covid-19. After conducting tests on 600 samples from Nyandarua County, none has tested positive. For this, I want to congratulate the people of Nyandarua for being Covid-19 free to date,” he said.

“However, this does not mean that the people of Nyandarua are immune from the virus,” Kagwe warned.
He urged residents to utilize the Nyumba Kumi initiative to protect themselves from the virus.
“We need to utilize the Nyumba Kumi governance structure. This is to ensure that there are no strangers coming to your homes and villages because this is the main way that the virus is transmitted,” Kagwe said.
Some 1,000 PPEs were donated to Nyandarua County.
Governor Francis Kimemia said his government will distribute them in areas at a higher risk of getting Covid-19.
