While speaking during a parliamentary meeting on Tuesday, Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen addressed his enemies who were rejoicing on his ouster. Since his removal from office, Murkomen has fought the decision, saying it was done illegally. He had a powerful message to his enemies.

“To my adversaries, I want to tell them you can celebrate, you can cheer, you can be happy. I will be coming back and coming back big,” Murkomen said.

The former Senate Majority Leader also thanked people from Elgeyo Marakwet who believed in him and gave him the opportunity to lead them. He pledged to continue serving Kenyans the best way he can.

“I will remain focused on the rule of law, on the things that affect Kenyans, in defending the people of Elgeyo Marakwet whom I am so grateful to, they elected a son of a squatter to come to this house (parliament),” he said.

The senator also forgave the speaker for being part of the team that enabled his ouster from the senate. Murkomen said he understood the speaker was influenced and made that choice under pressure. He listed all the favours he had done for the speaker and said he believed the speaker would never do such a thing willingly.

Senator for Elgeyo Marakwet Kipchumba Murkomen was yesterday replaced as the Senate Majority leader by Samuel Poghisio. This happened during the Jubilee Party’s senate parliamentary meeting at state house. West Pokot senator Samuel Poghisio is in KANU and has served in government.

The new leaders were elected in a bid to resolve the coalition’s senate leadership. Uhuru also congratulated the newly elected leaders and assured them of his support in the days to come. He expressed his interest in working closely with the new senate leaders to deliver services to Kenyans.
